Tuesday’s Purpose:  Difference Types of Government

Rationale – Students should understand and be able to identify and explain the different forms of governments throughout history and the changes.  Students need to understand that governments evolve from one another and that the current governments in the world are not constant and that governments do change to accommodate the needs of people.

 

Summary – This lesson is going to focus on various types of governments that have existed and have influenced some of the current governments in the world right now.  Students will be playing a “Who Am I?” game where the students will identify the different types of government.

 

Standards:  6.2.1, 6.2.2., 6.2.4

Homework – study power point handout.

Vocabulary – Democracy, Feudalism, Socialism, Communism, Dictatorship, Parliamentary, Monarchy, Bureaucracy.

-         Students will be participating in an activity that will reiterate the different types of governments.
